palettone, fresh noodles/pasta. More of those briny notes and a little spice (paprika) emerge with water.
Palate: A full and mouth coating body. Woody (very sauna-like), apricots, raisins and lots of BBQ notes (Bombay Bad Boy Pot Noodles, BBQ sauce and BBQ Pringles all mentioned). Coffee and toffee with an underlying soft smoky character. Becomes much softer with water with less depth of body.
Finish: More earthy, peatiness and smoke on the finish.
Comments: A lot of complexity which is unusual for a whisky of this age. Although water not recommended, we felt this deserved the time to be fully enjoyed at leisure.
