Linkwood 30 yo 'rare malts' 1974
Linkwood 30 yo 'rare malts' 1974 54.8% abv
The Rare Malts are a now-discontinued series of cask-strength releases designed by Diageo to showcase some of the hidden treasures in their portfolio. This Linkwood 1974 30yo was released in 2005 and remains the oldest ever official bottling from this distillery. Linkwood was a distillery renowned for its single malt even in Victorian times. Tradionally distilled at lower alcohol levels to help to bring out all its richness, this amber 30-years-old Speyside opens with toasty, fruity aromas that reveal a sophisticated, smooth, sweetly perfumed gem, with a spicy, nutmeg-dry finish.
